Bhoramdeo Temple is 18km from Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh and 125 kms away from Raipur, there is a thousand year old temple in Chauraganga.
Around the temple is the Macal mountain range, among which the temple is in a green valley. This temple was built by Nagvanshi king Devaraya in the 11th century. It is said that Goddess of Goddesses was Bhormadev, which is a name of Shiva, due to which the name of this temple is Bhormdev Pada. There is a beautiful pond in front of the temple.This temple is a historical temple. The structure of this temple is similar to the temple of Khajuraho and Konark, which is why people call this temple ‘Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh’.
The main temple is the Bhoramdeo temple built in stone. The architectural features with erotic sculptures has given a distinct style akin to the Khajuraho Temple and the Konarak Sun Temple in Odisha, and hence the Bhoramdeo complex is known by the sobriquet the “Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh”.
