The Chhattisgarh temples are usually very classical and had a very interesting story with them. One of them is Maa Bamleshwari temple. Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple is of great religious importance & the people of Chattisgarh viewed Dongargarh as a TIRTH. It is one of the famous places of worship which is located in Chhattisgarh.
The name is originated from two words- ‘dongarh’ means mountains and garh mean fort. One of the most increased well-known lights present in the area is that of Maa Bamleshwari Temple, located on a hilltop, 1600feet high. Almost 2200 years ago the place of Dongargarh was a beautiful abandoned city named Kamavati which was controlled by Maharaja Kamsen also called Kamakhya Nagri.
The beautiful view from the top is an added attraction for the devotees to observe the might of Bamleshwari Devi. An immense statue of Buddha in golden is apparent on the opposite mountain. During Navratri, Many devotees came and there been a huge rush which is a multi-day Hindu festival.
