Mahamaya Devi – Ratanpur
Mahamaya Temple is a temple dedicated to dual God Lakshmi & Saraswati, found in Ratanpur and it is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas, churches of Shakti, the spiritual lady, spread across India Ratanpur was once the capital of Chhattisgarh. It is found about 25 km from Bilaspur on the Katghora Road. As per the opinion of the locals, the place Ratanpur was important in all the 4 yugs (ages) of Hinduism – Sat-yuga, Treta Yug, Dwaapar Yug and Kal Yug. Temples of Ratanpur, Bilaspur attract visitors from far and wide places.
Ratanpur is a divine land and one of the most famous holy places in Bilaspur. The Mahamaya temple is found in a fairly iconic setting, facing north and managing a large number of holding temples, drones, forts and even palaces. These forts and palaces once lined this very temple and the royal house of the Ratanpur Kingdom. The basis of the temple is circled by ponds and houses temples of Shiva and Hanuman.
The Navratri festival saw here is a major tourist draw attended by many thousands of the firm from far and near. It was built by king Ratansen of the Kalchurain Dynasty.
